One fine Sunday

I woke up and was looking for you in our bed. The bedroom door was open and saw you singing while preparing our breakfast. Our little one is still curled up in bed. You looked at me and I greeted you ‘good morning’ and you smiled back at me.  I stood up and walked towards you and embraced you from the back while you were washing the dishes. “I had a bad dream” I said. “What was it?” You asked.  You laughed at me after I told you what it was. “Don’t ever leave me, please” I pleaded. You smiled, kissed me, and continue what you were doing.

I went back to bed and snoozed off with our little one. I woke up at your voice telling me that the breakfast was ready. I rose up and walked towards our dinning table. After   a few minutes, our little one woke up. I picked him up and prepared his plate. I sat him down in his chair waiting relentlessly for his plate to be flooded with food. I enjoyed our first meal of the day. I can’t thank you enough for preparing it. Simple yet tummy-filling, and healthy too.

We binged in our bed and satisfied our laziness after filling our tummy with food. By our little one’s demands, you turned on the laptop and streamed his favorite nursery rhymes while we continued to perpetuate with the seemingly slug-like activity that we are currently in. Suddenly, a knock on the door woke us both and forcing us to get up. It is the owner of the apartment we were renting, asking if we were ready for the installation of our air conditioning unit.

The installation was a ballad of labor-of-love and skillful hands. I can’t wait until it was all done and devour the comfort of our bedroom all day. I can’t and will never forget this day. I felt so loved and valued. From preparing our breakfast and lunch, to making sure our little one is happy, to making me feel that I am comfortable in our own home, to taking care of everything that you know I can’t do because of my current condition, and also for loving our Timber willingly. Thank you so much Asawa ko for always taking care of me and for giving your love by serving me and showering me with your care.

And how could I forget that you picked up the poop of our Timber and made sure that our home was squeaky clean for our little one early in the morning while me, our little one, and Timber was still sleeping. I could not ask for more! Mwah!
