Last day of November

Today is the last day of November and marks the nearing of end of the year. I just thought of making my December a month of Thanks-Giving. I will be posting blogs of thanks giving for the things I am grateful for, even the littlest of things. Let us end our 2015 with a grateful heart and start the 2016 full of hope! Cheers to more blogs! :)

Anvaya Burger

We've been to the doctor and advised me to slow down and monitor what I'm eating since I've gain drastically. 10 fudging kilos in just 6 months! Can you just imagine that? I kid you not, it is really tough for me at the beginning since I am not used to eating a lot, but since I am pregnant I am always thinking of the welfare of the life growing inside me.

I told my husband to monitor what we are eating, his reaction, dump that thought and just eat what I want. He is really one supportive husband right? Lol!

I was craving for meat and pasta that day, luckily the hubby was on off and just at home. I sent him an sms and asked him if he wants to try the Anvaya burger in Marikina (near Sta Lucia). He said 'Game!" So when the clock hit 5:00pm I hurried out and met him along the way.

Location wise, it is really accessible. I can't say that it is a restaurant, for me it is more of a bakeshop. It is non air-conditioned one so you might consider taking out your goodies and just eat it somewhere. For the sake of getting the feel of it, we chose to eat there. The wait time for the food is more than 15 minutes and sad to say the mobile network in the area is poor. So if you are planning to just browse through the internet until the food is served that is quite impossible.

My bacon love
Gaga for bacon!!

And the verdict? It was heavenly! The hubby can't agree enough. Our tummies are so satisfied that we don't need to eat our breakfast the next morning. All in all the food was great but the non air-conditioned place, the wait time, plus the not-so-hospitable staff are just some thoughts to consider.

My First-born's 15th birthday (Rub Ribs)

Would you believe, I have a teenage son! Woah! that felt odd telling the world of that, but hey I am so blessed to be in my midlife with a nearly adult guy as my son.

I asked him how he wants to celebrate his birthday. Of course I gave him his choices. First choice would be a dinner out with the whole family, and second would be home cooking to invite his friends over for merienda. He chose the dinner out with the family.

If you are watching my daily vlogs, you'll know that I am craving for steak lately. Initially, my plan was to bring the whole family to The Porch in QC. However, the traffic is really heavy so we've decided to just look for a steak house near our place. I recently tried Rub in Kapitolyo in Pasig and I think that would be a perfect place for my son's birthday dinner.

We ordered two of the Family Brunch which includes pork ribs good for 4 and three side dishes. Aside from that, I added 8 extra rice for the boys, soup of the day ( clam chowder), Caesar salad, and two pitcher of  their house blended iced tea.For the side dishes, we ordered potato fries, grilled butter corn, bacon and potato salad, buttered veggies, and their spiced rice.

It is no secret that my family loves to dine out and talk over food. My father said that the food here is great and really affordable, I shelled out 2,300.

All in all, the dinning experience here was great. The ribs are cooked just right, the place is awesome together with their friendly staff, and lastly the medley of their side dishes are superb.

Double date (Mini Manila Tour)

February 21, 2015

We had fun spending our Saturday with this couple. My first time on a double date but surely will not be the last.

Our meeting place was in Manila China town, popularly knows as Ongpin. The call time was 9:am in the morning but was able to reach the place at 10am. This would be my first time to personally meet this couple and I am excited but nervous at the same time. Her name is Eri and his is Seiji. They are our 'clan mates' lol! Did you know the famous game Clash of Clans? I am so addicted to it that time that I would spend long hours just playing that game.

First stop is the Binondo Church.

And then we went to Wai Ying for lunch.

I do apologize for not snapping photos of the rest of the food. I guess we are so hungry that we dive in to our food as soon as they landed our table lol!

I saw these odd looking thing, not sure what they are.
In Eng Bee Tin bake shop

Along Ongpin
Next stop was Lucky Chinatown Mall.
Be sure to ring the good luck gong

Then we headed to San Agustin Church.

After a long walk inside the San Agustin Church and museum, we went to Coco Bango Cafe  inside White Knight Hotel in Intramuros.

This place was so cozy and looks expensive. Surprisingly, they have affordable food on their menu.
After indulging with Halo-halo and some pastries for our merienda, we then went to Harbour Square. We spent the rest of the afternoon and watched the sun set.
Too bad my camera was unable to capture a decent sunset photo

Our tired but happy feet

And lastly, for our dinner, nothing beats a nice Army Navy burger.
Capping off the day

How we found out we're pregnant

I woke up in the middle of the night and felt the need to pee. I picked up my phone and checked the time, it's 3:22 am. The husband is sleeping soundly with his arms around me. Not wanting to disturb his deep, 'uninterruptible' sleep, so I've decided to just stay in bed and wait for the alarm. I hugged him back and he pulled me tighter and said "matulog ka pa." He knew that I am already awake and ready to start the day. I told him "May pregnancy test ako jan, do you want to check na ba? naiihi na din ako." He freed me from his tight hug and looked at me with excitement and said "Sige." I went to the toilet to get the sample of my pee and when I got back in our room he was there lying on our bed with his eyes still closed but trying to wake himself up. I told him "ikaw magdrop ng wiwi ko ha" Then he answered "sige po." I handed him the dropper, dipped it in the sample I got and carefully dropped it in the small basin where the sample is collected. I sat down beside him and waited with him. As the sample run through the test strip a strong, deep-pink line was slowly forming and then on the control line. He said "o positive daw" then I answered "oo nga daw." I think he saw what I saw, that the test line is much stronger than the control line. He said "wait natin maging even yung colors nung lines." I grabbed the small packet of the pregnancy test and read the instruction and how to read the results. I told him "positive daw talaga" while pointing on the small packet that says 'strong positive'. He looked at me, nodding his head convinced and said "positive na yan, ang laki na ng boobs mo kaya." I smiled a little and and he smiled back at me and looked back to the test casket. I am not really sure what he is thinking then. He went back to bed with his arms opened inviting me to lay down with him. I put my head on his arm and wrapped his other arm around me. He kissed me on my cheeks and then on my forehead and rested his head on his pillow. I felt his contentment and happiness just lying down beside me, those are his feelings that I never felt for a long time. I felt that he is smiling while trying to go back to sleep, so i hugged him tighter and he then again planted another kiss on my forehead. We snoozed for a little more until the alarm broke it's silence.
